All Stars is a grant-funded youth prevention program in Emmett that provides fun, engaging mental health support and substance-use prevention activities for children. Using evidence-informed games, group sessions, and creative workshops, the All Stars team teaches coping skills, resilience, decision-making, and healthy peer relationships to reduce risk for substance use. Activities are age-appropriate, school- and community-based, and designed to be inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible to families across Emmett. The program partners with local schools, health providers, and community organizations to connect youth and families to mental health resources and referral services as needed. Program goals include increased mental well-being, stronger protective skills, lower intent to use substances, and measurable reductions in early substance exposure. All Stars tracks participation, skill gains, and referral outcomes to evaluate impact and guide continuous improvement.
The All Stars curriculum uses future planning as a powerful motivator for students to remain drug-free by helping them envision and map out achievable goals—educational milestones, career ambitions, and personal dreams—and showing how substance use can derail those plans; through guided activities, role-plays, and goal-setting exercises, students learn to connect immediate choices with long-term outcomes, strengthen decision-making skills, and build a positive identity that aligns with their aspirations, making the choice to stay drug-free a concrete step toward the future they want.
Lunch groups provide a relaxed, welcoming space where children can eat together, make friends, and practice important social skills; through guided activities, conversation starters, and inclusive games, students learn listening, turn-taking, empathy, and conflict resolution while building trusting peer connections and a sense of belonging that supports positive choices and emotional well-being.
Brain Breaks are 15-minute mentor-guided sessions designed to create connection ,calm emotions, and strengthen confidence. Delivered by trained All Star's staff. Each session follows a simple, consistent structure (warm check-in, a short activity, and meaningful closing reflection.)
Activities are flexible and research-informed: movement bursts, mindful breathing, creative micro-projects, emotion literacy games, goal-setting check-ins, and quick puzzles that build executive skills and self-regulation. Sessions are tailored by age and individual needs and can be integrated into classroom routines, transitions, or scheduled pull-outs.
Benefits include improved attention, reduced stress, stronger rapport with caring adults, and measurable progress toward classroom readiness and social-emotional goals.
